On 28 September 2012, Satoriz opened its thirtieth organic supermarket in Crolles in eastern France, 10 km to the north east of the university town of Grenoble. The organic store, together with an organic restaurant, an eco-textiles shop and a brewery, can be found in a recently opened eco-centre that was constructed in keeping with building biology criteria. Satoriz would like to open two more organic supermarkets in the coming year. The current area of expansion lies between Rheims and Strasbourg in the north, and from Nice to Montpellier in the south, with special focus on the Alpine region (Rhône-Alpes) between Annecy and Grenoble.

The eco-centre, that was planned by the architects Anne Foulon and Thomas Brame, covers an area of 1,320 m². It is being built predominantly of wood, and construction is by local craftsmen. The green space round the building is watered by rainwater. Good insulation and a southerly aspect plus a green roof are further features of this eco-building. In addition to the shops, offices and apartments are being built. In the first phase from May 2011 to August 2012, the basic structure was finished and the area occupied by shops was completed. In the second phase from September 2012, nine apartments and 550 m² of office space will be built.
